Safety
Earthmaster’s commitment to work intelligently and efficiently to complete environmental project activities is superseded only by health and safety considerations for their employees, contractors, subcontractors, and the public. The Earthmaster Safety Program includes practices and procedures which have proven effective in incident reduction, while maintaining the flexibility to incorporate new techniques and technologies to allow for continuous improvement. Our hazard identification and safety training, in addition to overall safe work practices and experience, have propelled Earthmaster to being a safety leader among peers. All employees are expected to share the responsibility for safe work environments. They are required to identify hazards, take steps to mitigate the hazards if they cannot be eliminated, and perform their duties in a safe and responsible manner.
We have developed a comprehensive safety program requiring all employees to have regular in-house safety training plus attend external courses such as H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS2015), Standard First Aid and CPR, and Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
Earthmaster subscribes to the ComplyWorks® Management System and ISNetworld for health and safety compliance. We are proud of our excellent health and safety track record. Our many safety awards, certifications, and designations include:
- Government of Alberta Certificate of Recognition (COR)
- External Third Party Safety Audits (field and office) – achieved a performance rating of 98%
- Client Safety Awards - received multiple awards and recognition
- Work Safe Alberta Best Safety Performer - received seven consecutive years
- Winner of the 2015 Health and Safety Leader Award (Small Business) for the province of Alberta - Alberta Labour and the Occupational Health and Safety Council
